PERNELL JORDAN- SIXTH GRADER
My name is Pernell Jordan, and I`m in sixth grade, I`m 11 years old, and I play for Minor Threats.
So the kids my neighborhood play different sports.
They don`t play - they don`t play chess.
Just because I play chess, people don`t pick on me
and sometimes people don`t care.
I practice every day because
if you want to get better, you need to practice.
The thing I love about chess is that it challenges me to work harder.

CAILLOU WASN'T VERY HAPPY
She’s my special girl.
Rosie wasn’t very happy and neither was Caillou.
Nobody was paying attention to him
He though they only cared about Rosie.
Caillou was so unhappy that he wouldn’t like his doll anymore.
“Would you like to rock Rosie, Caillou?”
“No”
Caillou didn’t know if he liked Rosie very much.
“OK, Maybe later.”
Caillou’s daddy wasn’t happy to see Caillou pinching Rosie .
“Caillou, why did you do that to Rosie?”
“I don’t like Rosie.”
“Why not?”
“Rosie doesn’t play with me.”
But she’s only a baby.
She’s just too little to play with you now.

THE FROG PRINCE

Upset she has lost her favorite thing in the world, the princess started to cry.
Buồn vì nàng vừa mất vật yêu thích trên đời này, Công chúa đã bắt đầu khóc.
When just then a frog popped his head out of the water and said,
Vừa lúc một con ếch đã nhô đầu lên khỏi mặt nước và đã nói,
“Why are you crying?
Tại sao Công chúa đang khóc?
Slightly surprised to see a talking frog, the princess replied,
Hơi ngạc nhiên thấy một con ếch biết nói, Công chúa đã đáp,
My golden ball has fallen into the pond.
(Quả bóng vàng của ta vừa rơi xuống hồ.)
If you help me get it back, I will give you all my clothes and jewelry.
(Nếu nhà ngươi giúp ta lấy nó lại, ta sẽ cho nhà ngươi tất cả quần áo và trang sức của ta.)
The frog looked at the pricess and replied,
(Con ếch đã ngắm nhìn công chúa và đã đáp lại,)
“I don’t want your jewels and fine clothes but
If you promise to let me eat from your golden plate and sleep on your bed, I will get your ball for you.”
(Tôi hiện không muốn những tư trang và quần áo đẹp nhưng nếu công chúa hứa cho tôi ăn trên cái đĩa bằng vàng của công chúa và ngủ trên giường của công chúa, tôi sẽ giúp công chúa lấy lại quả bóng cho nàng.)
