CON NGOAN NGỦ RIÊNG- Obedient kid sleeping alone
Sắp lên 3 tuổi, vâng lời ba, bé Canon đã ngủ riêng.
About 3, taking dad’s advice, young Canon slept alone.
Bà nội rất muốn cháu ngủ chung với bà.
His grandma really wanted him to share her bed.
Lắt đầu, nó trả lời bà,
Skaking his head, he replied,
- Con lớn rồi, con phải ngủ riêng chứ.
- Growing up now, I’d better sleep alone.
Sau ba đêm một mình ngủ trong phòng riêng, nó tỏ vẻ ưu tư, chững chạc như một thanh niên mới lớn.
After 3-alone sleeping- nights, he seemed to be a grown up.
Một sáng sớm, nó bước vào khi có một mình mẹ dọn phòng.
One early morning, he entered his parents’ room while his mom was alone making bed.
Nó đảo mắt nhìn quanh phòng.
He looked around the room.
Không thấy ba, nó cất tiếng hỏi mẹ,
Not seeing Dad, he asked his mom,
- Hồi tối ba ngủ ở đâu vậy mẹ?
- Where did he sleep last night, Mom?
Ôm nó vào lòng, xoa đầu nó, mẹ nó trả lời,
Embracing him, rubbing his head, then she replied,
- Ba đã ngủ ở đây với mẹ.
- He slept here with me.
Nhìn vào mắt mẹ nó thắc mắc,
Looking into his mom’s eyes, he wondered,
- Ba nói con lớn rồi phải ngủ riêng. Sao ba lớn rồi mà còn ngủ chung với mẹ?
- He said, “I have to go to bed all by myself. Why does he, a grown man, sleep with you?”
Mẹ nó mỉm cười chửa thẹn,
Avoiding shyness, she smiled at him.
- Tại vì ba không ngoan như con. Trẻ con ngày nay ngoan ngỏan hơn cả người lớn nữa, phải không con?
- “He is not as obedient as you are. The kids nowadays are more obedient than the grown ones, don’t you think so?”
Nó hài lòng bước ra khỏi phòng để khoe với Bà nội.
Feeling pleased, he stepped out to show his grandma the compliment.
- Grandma, mẹ mới khen con ngủ riêng.
- Grandma, Mom’s just praised me for my alone sleeping.

MY GRAND MA- Kitty- on her grand ma's birthday
MY GRAND MA
There are a lot of big things of my grand ma which not many other women can do the same.
When my grand pa died, my dad was not one year old yet. My grand ma loved him very much and cared for him in every possible way. Since then, she has been alone to support her two children, my dad and my uncle. It was very hard for her to go to college with 2 young children. Her little salary was not enough for every day expenses.
When my papa was in his third year of college, my grand ma became Vice-chief of the Provincial Trade- Union and my mommy was in love with him in fascination.
When I was born, my papa didn’t even know that she bought him a piece of land. She understood that my papa would be very happy in a new home. When my sister was born, she retired. Unfortunately, she had a severe accident last year.
Today is her birthday. What I write down is just a small gift for her.
